What is Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a technique used to gain access to your subconscious mind, and has been used since 1843 to make positive changes in people’s lives.

During hypnosis you will be totally in control and will be able to hear me and communicate with me at all times. You will not go to sleep, but will enter a different level of consciousness which we call trance. The feeling of Trance is similar to guided meditation.

We all go in and out of trance quite a lot every day naturally for example:
• When driving a car and get from one place to another (and you not sure how you got there)
• Watching TV (and you zone out, go into a daze)
• When talking or listening to someone (and your mind start to wander off)

Trance is a normal natural state of being. When you are in trance you and your hypnotherapist can access and talk to your subconscious mind to make any changes that you want to better your life or set new goals.

When I guide you into trance you will feel like you do every day when you are really, really relaxed and in a waking state, you will never feel zonked out or out of control as this is not the state you need to be in to access your subconscious mind.

For hypnosis to work effectively you will need to be able to relax and listen to what I am saying and follow my instructions, so that you will be able to go into trance and stay in trance.
If you are not able to do this or choose not to follow my instructions, you simply will not go into trance long enough to perform hypnosis effectively.

The way I will keep you in trance is by distracting your conscious mind with instructions similar to guided meditation, I then will be able to communicate directly to your subconscious mind on your behalf, while you sit back and relax and enjoy the guided meditation, and any messages/realisations/answers you may receive from your unconscious mind.

When you come out of hypnosis you may be convinced you remember everything that was said in hypnosis but you would have miss bits without noticing just as you do when you are watching TV or chatting with friends because you will be totally relaxed and in trance. Your conscious mind may forget bits, but your subconscious mind will remember everything and will filter it as needed to achieve all that you have asked for.

I’ll now explain a little more now about the 2 parts of your mind.
The Smaller part is your couscous mind and can only do one thing at a time. This part is very limited with its understanding and can be very negative as it is very critical and judgemental.

Whereas the larger part is your subconscious mind which is like a computer runs constantly in the background, and can do many things all at once, and is in control of all your bodies unconscious functions such as, blinking, breathing, your heart beating, all the cells in our entire body.

It does not judge or have any opinions and has no sense of humour and does not recognize negatives.

Our subconscious mind just like a computer will take in all that we See, hear, taste and smell on a daily basis and then will decide what to do with it all. It will decide what it needs to delete, remember, and will, in turn, form our personalities and who we are from the past, present experiences.

Using trance, I can help you go into your unconscious mind and reprogram anything you wish to change. For example, your emotions and how you feel and think about certain situations. You can program it to create wealth and abundance in your life. You can literally change anything in your past present and future that you are unhappy with or is standing in the way of who you want to be or what you want to achieve in the future. And in some cases, you can also use it to heal your body.

Everyone can be hypnotised except for mentally disabled people, people under the influence of drugs and alcohol and anyone who does not want to be, as all hypnosis is self-hypnosis with the help of a hypnotherapist when the client does not know how to go into trance or just chooses to have the help of a hypnotherapist.

So in a nutshell Hypnosis helps create the best version of yourself.

What to Expect

The session will probably be different from what you might have expected. We will discuss in full the problem you are wanting to have hypnosis for and will explore why and how the problem may have been created. This way we can then focus on new strategies to help make the problem disappear very quickly.

We may talk about your problem in ways that you have never considered. I may even ask you questions that you do not totally understand consciously in order for your Unconscious Mind to make the changes you want at the unconscious level. It is important to do this so that we can reduce the time taken for the changes to take place. If you have been in other therapy sessions before, except that this one will be very different, and may be quite a bit shorter.

This is the Process: I will begin with asking you to explain the problem. I will ask you for examples of the problem and other questions to discover HOW you do it in your mind. I will also probe to discover the source of the problem-the precipitating event(s). Sometime before the end of this part of the session, I will ask you what has to happen so you will know the problem is gone.

After the Session: I may assign you some very specific tasks to do after your hypnotherapy session. These tasks are, absolutely, a fundamental part of the session. They may take up to several days or weeks to complete. The tasks are directly related to the circumstances that created the problem and will play a huge role in complementing and reaffirming your hypnotherapy session and will play a huge role in its success.

It is also very important is that you only focus on what you want in a positive manner. The people who are the happiest over-all in life are those who recognise that you have a choice to focus on what you don’t want or what you do want. You can focus on negative emotions and things that make you feel bad, or you can focus on positive emotions and things that make you feel good. It is your choice. After the session, YOU MUST FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT.
